Sunspots Driving Climate.

I live on the east coast of the UK not that far away from Skegness and was greeted by 3inches of snow covering this morning when I opened my front door. After turning on the TV and listening to the early morning news reports I was intrigued to learn that this was the earliest major snow fall for seventeen years in the UK. Watching on, the  report went on to discuss whether the UK would be running low on salt to grit the roads any-time soon and a local council official said that because of lessons learned from last year when we had one of the coldest winters since the fifties that extra supplies were available this year and provisions were in a healthy state but if we had a particularly severe winter due to "global warming" then provisions may run out by the end of the winter.
The global warming plug didn't surprise, it seems that a lot of scientist and politicians want it both ways. If the climate gets warmer it's down to global warming and if it gets colder it's also down to global warming. It wasn't so long ago that these so called experts were assuring us that winters would become milder and this would result in all sorts of problems, increased rainfall and floods just to mention a few.
So what's happening with the weather? I don't seem to see any correlation with the expert's computer model predictions. If you take a simple look out of your front door I don't see any real evidence for global warming either, in fact if anything our climate seems to be getting colder. This has always happened though hasn't it, climate has always been a state of fluctuation if there isn't global warming then there is global cooling, climate never stays the same. So what is really driving climate change. Well in my humble opinion it's obvious. When you are sat in your living room with inches of snow outside you turn the fire on to get warm. You may turn on one bar, two bars or even three depending on how warm you want it.

But what you don't do to make it warmer is spark up a cigarette and fill the room with as much smoke as possible to make your living room warmer. Why? well because it would be ineffectual It's that fire in the corner that provides the real warmth. Just as I suggest that it's our Sun that drives our global temperature fluctuations. If you look to the Sun now for clues you'll see that at the moment there are only 22 active sunspots at work. The Suns activity is currently very low and many suggest that our climate reflects Solar activity. In fact you can see a compelling graph on this site that shows a distinct correlation between solar activity and our global temperature. If you'd like to draw a comparison that huge fire ball that provides us with heat is currently only on one bar and I would put it to you, that is the real reason for the reduced temperatures we are seeing at the moment. Here is an interesting graph that shows solar activity over the last couple of hundred years and as you can see Solar activity is very low at the moment and is a compelling argument for current global temperatures.
